Field & Era (“we,” “us”) operates fieldandera.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your data.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to fulfill your order and run the site.

Information you give us

Order details — name, email address, shipping address, and the poster spec you design in the customizer (names, locations, dates, copy).
Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. Stripe gives us a token plus the last four digits and the card brand for our records.
Communication — anything you send us by reply email, including proof revision notes.

Information collected automatically

Usage data — pages viewed, clicks, device type, browser, and approximate location (city / country) inferred from IP, via PostHog and Google Analytics 4.
Email engagement — opens, clicks, bounces, and unsubscribes from our transactional and marketing emails, via Resend.

How we use it

To process your order, render your proof, and ship your poster.
To email you the proof, order confirmation, shipping updates, and (if you opt in) occasional marketing.
To improve the site — understanding which pages convert, fixing what doesn’t.
To prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations.

We share data only with the third parties needed to operate the service. Each is bound by their own privacy policy and applicable data processing agreements.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with advertisers beyond the standard pixel-tracking and analytics services listed above.

Cookies & tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for three purposes: functional (keeping you logged into the customizer and remembering your cart), analytics(PostHog, Google Analytics — how the site is used), and session replay(PostHog — anonymized recordings of how visitors navigate, never including form values like credit card numbers).

You can disable analytics cookies via your browser settings or any consent banner shown to you. Functional cookies cannot be disabled without breaking the cart and checkout.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. EU and UK residents have these rights under GDPR; California residents have analogous rights under CCPA/CPRA.

You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time via the link at the bottom of every marketing message. Transactional emails (proof, order confirmation, shipping) are not optional — they are part of completing your order.

How long we keep data

Order records— 7 years (tax and accounting requirements).
Poster designs— 2 years after order delivery, so we can reprint if your poster is damaged in transit.
Email engagement data— 2 years.
Analytics data— per the third-party provider’s default retention (typically 14 months for Google Analytics, 7 years for PostHog).

International transfers

Our servers and partners are located in the United States and the European Union. If you are based outside these regions, your data may be transferred to and processed in a country with different data protection laws. We use Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.

Children

Field & Era is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected data from a child, we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be notified by email to registered customers or via a banner on the site.
